Erik Stam
Erik Stam (1975) is professor in Economics of Entrepreneurship and Innovation at the Utrecht University School of Economics and he is Academic Director of the Utrecht Center for Entrepreneurship. In previous years he was working with the Erasmus University in Rotterdam, the Max Planck Institute of Economics in Jena, the University of Cambridge and the Scientific Council of Government Policy in the Netherlands.
His research is mainly focused on entrepreneurship, innovation, economic organization and economic development. Next to his academic research and education, he often advises regional, national and international organizations on innovation and entrepreneurship policy. He is a fellow of the Knowlegde centre Institutions of the Open Society, has a position in the board of the Royal Society for Political Economy (‘Koninklijke Vereniging voor Staathuishoudkunde’) and he is Associate Editor of Small Business Economics.
